Is It Worth It Getting An Action Replay

THAT to cry, not necessarily an accent. Small Twister

If a sentence begins with That and has exclamation points, that does not necessarily That must bear accent.

The What (with tilde) use it in phrases like
  • What big surprise! What a thrill to see you!
But in the following examples, does not tilde:
  • Do not you miss the train! Do not let it escape!

What is the difference?

The accented What weighs or measures the nature, amount or intensity of something. That

The tilde is the classic no relative pronoun that connects two sentences, one main and one subordinate. The difference is that, in the examples above, the main clause is absent because it is taken for understatement:
  • Do not you miss the train! (Pay attention to the schedule, to you do not miss the train! )
  • Do not let it escape! (Shut the door to that the dog will not escape! ).
