I'm so used to using the phrase "automotive" I was surprised when I read that right ElCastellano.org should be "auto market."
This is because auto is a feminine adjective, while market is a masculine noun.
All terminations "matrix" are female, what we mean when we talk about it:
- Actor (male) - Actress (female).
- Emperor (male) - Empress (female).
- Automotive (male) - Automotive (female).
Additional note:
apparently would not correct these uses. Days after writing this post , I found the following mention in the WordReference forums, user-written filim :
" Automotive means that moves by itself . While it is absurd automotive market is also automotive market, it would be a market that moves by itself. The right thing should be car market and car market. In any case in Chile is very common to read and listen to "auto market", "auto insurance" or "auto sales." ---
