SAR are they news? The misunderstood Gerundio

The changes that the English Royal Academy announced on Friday November 5 caused a stir impressive social networking, which is very positive. Before this news went unnoticed. The funny thing is that, in fact, changes have very little new:

Guion without tilde: this word should not lead tilde long as it is a diphthong, and therefore, a monosyllable. It's the same word for God.
between numbers or no accent: monosyllable was no longer pronounced, except those with double meaning as tea. The exception to accentuate "or" between numbers was to avoid like a zero when placed between numbers.

The name of the letters Y and V sounds coherent and in many Latin American countries had excluded the CH and LL of the alphabet, and even the letter V and was demoninada vee and the Y was called karma. Just about a reconciliation between all countries.

Only unaccented: this is the most critical change that has been generated. Should only take tilde as an adverb ( only as a synonym for only) to differentiate it from the adjective ( only as a synonym for solo). But, according to the RAE, there are few cases in which it creates confusion because, according to them, define the context of use. This is curious for an Academy which, strictly speaking, does not like leaving anything to chance. Here are two common examples:
  • I see you only when you walk: "I can see only when you walk or see you when you walk alone? We will have to help with a comma to avoid confusion: (I I see, only when I see you walk or only when you walk). I'll
  • home alone: \u200b\u200b Will you go alone or go home unaccompanied home?

Ex: and in some countries, wrote former minister or president of space. But the RAE says it must be separated when the title referred is a compound, as General Manager. In this case, should be written separately (former CEO). I personally find it incoherent.

Qatar, Iraq and Cuórum: this rule is not foreign. SAR accept terms within their rules, this is the famous example of whiskey (Instead of whiskey). The English limits the use of the letter Q to syllables and QUI, so establishing a rule that, for example, cuórum and taste are to be written with C and Iraq ended in K was obvious.

These are the most common. What's New? Very few to have generated much comment. Only tried to order some rules were unclear.
